 Astronomy on Tap - Tuesday 26th September, 19h - 22h

Excursion to the Varbergs fortress - Wednesday 27th September, 13h30 - 18h00

Busses will depart from Chalmers after lunch and take us to the small town of Varberg where we will visit the historic fortress Varbergs fästning. After a planned tour around the fortress (bring a raincoat), you can keep exploring the fortress many museum-exhibitions. You can learn about fascinating finds, such as the bog body called “the Bocksten man”, found in a bog in 1936 dating back to medieval times, and learn about the history of the region, from ice sheets to beaches, and about the people who lived there. You can also enjoy nice cafés and stroll around looking various landmarks. The bus will then take us back to Chalmers at 17:00/18:00.

14:30 Arrival at Varberg

14:30-17:00 Visit of the fortress and the museum 

17:00/17:30 Departure from Varberg

The social dinner will happen on Thursday evening at Wijkanders.

Excursion to the Onsala Space Observatory - Friday 29th September, 13h - 17h45

We organise an excursion to the Onsala Space Observatory on Friday afternoon, which is free for all participants. This includes fika and bus travel to the observatory.
